With Glasgow to the north Ayrshire offers a positive cornucopia of things to see and do.
Glasgow, former European City of Culture, is home to Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. The Burrell collection is a haven for culture lovers, a wonderful display of art objects from across the world.
The more rural atmosphere of Ayrshire offers the visitor every conceivable type of landscape, from rolling hills to dramatic coastlines, mountains, forests and woodlands to moorlands, from green fields to long sandy beaches. This is also Burn’s country, he was born in Alloway and there are many places celebrating his life and poetry to be visited. Last but not least Golf is a way of life, some of the worlds finest courses (including Royal Troon) can be found scattered along the coast
